There's something we mere consumers must not be aware of, as a couple of major manufacturers are eyeing double digit increases in production output for the incoming year. First of all, Toyota had announced they will increase manufacturing outputs by 20% for 2012. Then this week, Mercedes announced its intention to increase their own output by 13%.

In fact with its unique doors, technological firsts and low production numbers, the 300SL is considered one of the most collectible Mercedes-Benz models of all time, with prices generally in the $500,000-700,000 range. How is it that looking back, things always seem rosier somehow? Nostalgia just works like that, especially when you're talking about the 70's; times were simpler, people were friendlier, things were cheaper and grass was everywhere!
But could that just be the rose colored lenses of our memory? Or, were things actually better "back then"? Obviously, that all depends on where you were in life. For example, if you were in jail at the time, then no. But if you were rich or a kid, then yeah, you probably have fond memories. パワートレインは、フォルクスワーゲンの新しい横置きモジュールを基本にしたプラグインハイブリッド。二次電池は、蓄電容量9.8kWhのリチウムイオンバッテリーで、センタートンネルにレイアウトした。
シティ（エコ）、スポーツ、オフロードの3種類の走行モードを用意。EVモードでは、最大40kmのゼロエミッション走行が可能で、欧州複合モード燃費は37km/リットル。EVモード分も含めると、最大855kmを無給油で走行できる。
ジャガー C-X16米国で開幕したロサンゼルスモーターショー11。
英国ジャガーカーズのブースでは、ハイブリッドスポーツカーコンセプト、『C-X16』が北米デビューを飾った。
C-X16は2011年9月、ジャガーの次世代スポーツカーコンセプトとして、フランクフルトモーターショー11に出品。そのエンジンは、新世代V型6気筒ガソリンをスーパーチャージャーで過給したもので、3.0リットルの排気量から、最大出力380ps、最大トルク45.9kgmを引き出す。
ハイブリッドシステムのモーターは、最大出力95ps、最大トルク24kgm。F1マシンのKERSと同様、モーターのパワーが、ステアリングホイールのスイッチ操作で必要な時に引き出せる「プッシュtoパス」を採用。その効果で、0-100km/h加速4.4秒、最高速300km/hという優れたパフォーマンスを発揮する。
ジャガーカーズのチーフデザイナー、イアン・カルム氏は「C-X16を近い将来、量産に移すつもりだ」と同車の市販化を宣言している。
メルセデスベンツ C63AMGクーペ 日本発表7月29日より予約が開始されていたメルセデスベンツ『C63AMG』の発売が開始された。
そのユーザー層は「（C63AMGよりも）もっと高額モデルも購入できる予算はあるが、あえてこのC63AMGが欲しいという方に選ばれています」と話すのは商品企画・マーケティング部商品企画2課古川操さん。
その理由は「クルマが好きでパフォーマンスを秘めたモデルが欲しく、CクラスのAMGとして購入しているというよりは、最も凝縮されたAMGが欲しいというマインドの方が多いようです」と話す。
また、今回新たに導入された『C63AMGクーペ』について、「競合であるBMW『M3クーペ』などのユーザーにも乗ってほしい。性能等々比較するとかなり満足してもらえると思います」と自信を見せる。同社代表取締役副社長上野金太郎氏も、「パーソナルな高性能スポーツカーを求めるユーザーのニーズに応えるモデルであると確信しています」と語った。
MINIのロールスロイス仕様？BMWグループのMINIが、4月の上海モーターショーで初公開したMINIのロールスロイス仕様、『MINIインスパイアド・バイ・グッドウッド』。世界限定1000台で発売される同車の価格は、驚くべき設定となりそうだ。
23日、自動車メディアの『オートブログ』が伝えたところによると、インスパイアド・バイ・グッドウッドの欧州価格は、4万6900ユーロ（約540万円）から。これは、同メディアがMINIの関係者から得た情報だという。
同車はMINIのハッチバックの最上級グレード「クーパーS」がベース。同グレードの日本価格は、約300万円だから、ロールスロイスのコンバージョンによって、約1.8倍の値づけが行われる計算だ。
ちなみに2009年5月、MINIは「ジョンクーパーワークス」をベースにしたF1参戦50周年記念車、「WC50」を世界限定250台でリリース。同車は日本には「ジョンクーパーワークス・ワールドチャンピオンシップ50」のネーミングで10台が導入され、その価格は500万円だった。
インスパイアド・バイ・グッドウッドは2012年春に発売予定。540万円のベース価格が事実なら、MINI史上、最高値モデルとなりそうだ。
ポルシェ パナメーラターボS 発表ポルシェAGは、パフォーマンスと効率、ドライビングダイナミクスと快適性を両立した『パナメーラターボS』を本国で発表した。
パナメーラターボSに搭載する4.8リットルV型8気筒エンジンは、パナメーラターボのエンジンを10％、50ps上回る550psを発生する。最大トルクも700Nmから750Nmに増加した。
ローンチコントロール機能により静止状態から100km/h加速は3.8秒で、最高速度は306km/h。 このほか、エクステリアでも20インチターボIIホイールを採用したリアトレッド、ポルシェエクスクルーシブのデザインによるサイドスカート、ボディカラー同色塗装仕上げの可変式2ピースリアスポイラーを装備する。内装では、ツートンカラーレザーインテリアを採用する。
アウディ A1 新車発表アウディA1は、アウディファミリーの末弟ながら、“アウディらしさ”を存分に与えられたコンパクトモデルだ。
エクステリアは、フロントのLEDポジショニングランプがアウディファミリーの一員であることを主張。その一方で、強調されたショルダーライン、アーチ状のルーフなど、これまでの“3ドアHBらしさ”とは一線を画す個性が与えられている。
短いフロントオーバーハングは、単にデザイン上の要請ではなく、運動性能の追求を目指したもの。バッテリーをトランクルームに配置するなどして理想的な前後重量配分を実現。軽量かつ高剛性のボディ、熟成を重ねたサスペンションとともに、スポーティなハンドリングと安定感ある高速巡航性を提供する。
オプションのバイキセノンヘッドランプ、LEDリアコンビランプを選択すれば、さらなる「サイズにとらわれないプレミアム感」を演出することも可能だ。

メルセデス・ベンツ CLクラス/マイナーチェンジ11月8日、メルセデス・ベンツは、フラッグシップラグジュアリークーペ「CLクラス」を大幅改良。同日より全国の販売店で発売した。
フロントまわりのデザインは、大きく立体的となったフロントグリル、LEDポジションライトによりシャープで輝きを増したヘッドライトユニット、クロームトリムとLEDドライビングランプを備えたフロントバンパーなどを採用し、イメージを一新。リアも灯火類の変更、エグゾーストエンド一体型バンパーなどで、よりスタイリッシュなものとされた。
エンジンは主力モデルとなるCL550
BlueEFFICIENCYがV8ツインターボ4.7Lを、上位のCL600がV12ツインターボ5.5Lを搭載。V8ツインターボ5.5L、V12ツインターボ6Lを搭載するCL63AMG、CL65AMGとあわせ、全4種類のラインナップとなる。
価格は1630万円〜3020万円。CL550 BlueEFFICIENCYのみ左右ハンドルの選択が可能で、それ以外のモデルは左ハンドルのみとなる
メルセデスベンツ CL63 AMG…性能はスーパーカー？メルセデスベンツAMGの新世代V8ツインターボを搭載する第1号車となった『CL63AMG』。そのPR映像が、動画共有サイトで公開された。
この新V型8気筒エンジンは、現行「63シリーズ」に広く採用されている6208cc・V型8気筒NAエンジンの後継機種。M157型と呼ばれるスプレーガイデッド方式の直噴エンジンは、排気量を5461ccへ747cc縮小しながら、2個のターボチャージャーを装着してパワーを稼いだ。ピエゾインジェクターやAMG初のアイドリングストップなどによって、燃費は27％、CO2排出量は30％も改善している。
その最大出力は544ps/5500rpm、最大トルクは81.6kgm/2000〜4500rpmと、旧モデル比で19ps、17.4kgm向上。トランスミッションは、7速2ペダルMTの「AMGスピードシフトMCT-7」で、0〜100km/h加速4.5秒、最高速250km/h(リミッター作動)という一級の動力性能をマークする。
AMGはさらなる高性能を求める顧客のために、「AMGパフォーマンスパッケージ」を用意。ターボのブースト圧を1.0バールから1.3バールに引き上げるなどの専用チューンを受け、最大出力は571ps/5500rpm、最大トルクは91.8kgm/2500〜3750rpmと、27ps、10.2kgmの性能アップを成し遂げた。0〜100km/h加速は4.4秒、最高速は300km/h(リミッター作動)と、スーパーカー並みの性能だ。
2010年上半期輸入車ブランド別ランキング、VWが圧倒日本自動車輸入組合が発表した2010年上半期（1〜6月）の輸入車ブランド別新車販売台数によるとフォルクスワーゲンが前年同月比32.5％増の2万4862台と、2位に約1万台の差をつけてトップを堅持し、シェアは25.6％を占めた。
フォルクスワーゲンは、高出力と低燃費を両立した「TSI」エンジン搭載モデルが好調に推移した。
2位はメルセデスベンツで同13.2％増の1万5556台だった。3位のBMWは同6.5％増の1万4184台と、2位のメルセデスベンツと約1400台差だった。

VW、ニュービートルの最終モデルを発売フォルクスワーゲンは、「ニュービートル」の仕様・装備を向上させながら価格上昇幅を最小限に抑えた特別仕様車「ニュービートル プライム エディション」を設定し、本日から全国のフォルクスワーゲン正規ディーラーにて販売を開始する。
ニュービートルは1999年9月の販売開始以来、その個性的なデザインと、ボディーカラーなどで老若男女を問わずデザイン嗜好の強いお客様の支持を得ているモデルで、その個性は10年以上たっても色あせることなく、ニュービートル シリーズは現在までに累計約82,000台を販売した、フォルクスワーゲンの人気モデルのひとつである。しかしながら、1998年の世界デビューから12年が経過したこともあって、今年をもってニュービートルの生産終了が決定された。
今回の特別仕様車「ニュービートル プライム エディション」は、内外装を充実させ、最終型に相応しい装備とし、ベースとなるモデルには、1.6Lエンジンを搭載したエントリーグレードの「ニュービートル EZ」で、エクステリアには、16インチアルミホイールと、ダークティンテッドガラスを、インテリアには、レザーのステアリングホイール、ハンドブレーキグリップ、シフトノブを採用。さらに、前席には女性からのリクエストが多いシートヒーター、さらにパークディスタンスコントロールを搭載し、ニュービートルの上位グレード「ニュービートル LZ」にも匹敵する充実した装備とした。 価格は上記のような数々の快適装備を採用しながら2,490,000円と、ベースモデルのわずか4万円の上昇に抑え、お買い得感を高めている。
メルセデス・ベンツ SLS AMG“スリーポインテッド・スター”の紋章。左右フェンダー先端にマウントされた2灯式のヘッドライト。そして何よりも、特徴的なガルウイング式ドアの採用に、クルマ好きであれば往年の名車『300SL』と、このSLS AMGとの関連性をイメージするに違いない。
正式車名に『メルセデス・ベンツ』の名が刻まれるものの、実際に開発を行なったのはAMGだ。しかも、「企画の当初から、初めてその全てを自社で開発した」と、AMGの担当者が胸を張る1台でもある。
ボディ骨格は、軽量化を意識しつつも、コストの無闇な上昇も嫌ったアルミ・スペースフレーム方式。 エンジンは、他のAMGモデルにも採用されている6.2リッターV8DOHCを、より低重心にマウントするべくドライサンプ化して搭載。
結果、1620kgの重量と571hp／650Nmという出力の組み合わせで、わずか3.8秒という0→100km／h加速タイムと317km／hの最高速を実現している。
アウディ、R8スパイダーの予約を開始アウディ ジャパンは、Audi R8に最上級グレードとして2シーターオープンモデルのAudi R8 Spyderを追加設定し、本日より全国9カ所のAudi R8取扱い正規ディーラーにて予約受付を開始する。
今回追加設定されたAudi R8 Spyderは、ミッドシップレイアウトのV型10気筒5.2リッターエンジンに6速Rトロニックとの組み合わせで最高出力525ps/8,000rpm、最大トルク54.0kg-m/6,500rpmを発生させ、100 km/h加速は4.1秒、最高速度は313km/hに達する。また、クワトロシステムや、スタート時のホイールスピンを抑えてスマートな走りだしを可能とするローンチシステム、軽量ボディ構造「アウディ スペース フレーム（ASF）」等のアウディ独自の最新技術を採用し、あらゆる状況下で素晴らしいロードパフォーマンスを発揮しつつ高い受動安全性という、相反する要求を極めて高い次元で実現している。
開閉時間19秒の高速起動を可能としたソフトトップは、50km/h以内なら、走行中でも操作可能となり、クローズ時でも美しいデザインのルーフラインを実現。インテリアには、直射日光による表面温度向上を抑える、赤外線反射コーティングを施したファインナッパレザーの本革スポーツシートを装備し、2色の新色を含む、全11色（うち2色は新色）の標準エクステリアカラーを用意している。
VW クロスポロ 新型フォルクスワーゲンは19日、新型『クロスポロ』を発表した。5ドアハッチバックの『ポロ』をベースに、車高を15mmアップ。クロスオーバー車のようなルックスを持たせたポロの第4のバリエーションだ。3月2日に開幕するジュネーブモーターショーで正式発表される。
エンジンはガソリン3、ディーゼル3の合計6ユニット。ガソリンは1.2リットル直列4気筒（70ps）、1.4リットル直列4気筒（85ps）、直噴1.2リットル直列4気筒ターボ「TSI」（105ps）。トランスミッションは6速MTが基本で、7速DSGは一部グレードにオプションだ。1.2TSIは、0 - 100km/h加速9.9秒、最高速188km/hの実力。欧州複合モード燃費は18.18km/リットル、CO2排出量は128g/kmと環境性能も高い。
ディーゼルは、直噴1.6リットル直列4気筒ターボ「TDI」で、最大出力は75ps、90ps、105psの3仕様を設定。欧州複合モード燃費は23.25km/リットル、CO2排出量は113g/kmとクラストップレベルの環境性能を誇る。ガソリン、ディーゼルともに全エンジンが、ユーロ5の排出ガス基準を満たす。
新型クロスポロは、3月2日に開幕するジュネーブモーターショーで正式発表された後、ドイツでは5月下旬に販売開始。順次、欧州全域でリリースされる。フォルクスワーゲンは、「日本市場へも投入する」と宣言している。
エキシージSタイプ72 限定発売ロータスカーズの日本正規輸入総代理店であるエルシーアイはロータス・エキシージ S タイプ72を台数限定で発売する。
この限定車は1970年から1975年のF1グランプリで20勝という快挙を成し遂げたロータスタイプ７２フォーミュラワンを記念するモデルである。
エキシージ タイプSをベースに、エクステリアではチーム・ロータスのレーシング･カーへの彩色を担当したのと同じサイン・デザイナーによってブラック＆ゴールドのカラーリングが行われ、同じカラーリングのスポーティな軽量鍛造ホイールが標準装備となる。インテリアにおいても、ゴールドのステッチングを施したブラック・マイクロ・ファイバー製ProBaxスポーツ・シートを標準装備とし、F1優勝を称える特製のプレートが用意されている。
