Thomas the tank engine

Mention the island of Sodor to children and they will probably be more than familiar with this location. That`s because the island of Sodor is the home for Thomas The Tank Engine and it`s where he happily spends his days pulling his coaches named Annie and Clarabel. It was back in the 1940s when the stories of Thomas The Tank Engine were first penned and the name of the man behind then stories was Rev W V Awdry. The Reverend wrote the stories for his son and he probably wouldn`t have guessed how popular Thomas The Tank Engine would become. In the first story Thomas was a stumpy little engine that longed to have a branch line of his own. He craved for the days when he could take his own coaches to exciting locations in Sodor. The Fat Controller didn`t think Thomas The Tank Engine was capable of pulling his own coaches along a district line. However, fate intervened when another engine called James got into trouble and was rescued by Thomas, thus proving his worth. The adventures of Thomas The Tank Engine captivate children`s minds and today they can relive them on a daily basis. There are numerous types of toys relating to Thomas that are available and they can easily be found through good toy retailers. Terrific types of Thomas The Tank Engine train sets are available to buy and they can let children take Thomas on whole new adventures. The island of Sodor is a busy place and it`s where Thomas The Tank Engine pulls Annie and Clarabel to a series of fun-filled adventures.

Thomas The Tank

Children love the adventures of Thomas The Tank engine and they will happily play with a range of Thomas toys for many hours. Ever since Thomas The Tank engine merchandise started hitting the shops this delightful little engine has found many welcoming homes. In the original story by the Rev W V Awdry, Thomas The Tank engine was a busy little engine who lived and worked on the island of Sodor. He longed to have his own line but wasn`t given that great honour until he rescued another engine called James and was considered worthy of pulling his own coaches. Annie and Clarabel are the names of Thomas The Tank engine`s coaches and they are considered to be the engine`s best friends. Although the original story focused mainly on Thomas The Tank engine, over the years the Reverend added more and more characters to his books. Each and every story is charming and quaint and they hark back to olden times when life was taken at a more gentile rate. The popularity of Thomas The Tank engine books would eventually lead to a television series being made and in the 1980s the stories of Thomas came to life with former Beatles member Ringo Star narrating the adventures. As well as a television series being made a host of Thomas The Tank engine merchandise became available. Train sets that simulated Thomas`s exploits could be purchased by parents who would spend many hours helping their children to relive the Reverend`s original ideas. It is these train sets that children love to play with and they are readily available through a host of toy retailers.

Underground Ernie

The adventures of Underground Ernie have been on our television screens for some time now and they tell children about the exploits of Ernie and his friends as they work at International Underground. Whereas Thomas the Tank engine spends all of his working life outdoors, the trains on underground ernie spend the majority of their time underground. In the underground ernie adventures there are many different trains and they each have their own distinct personality. We are introduced to characters like Bakerloo train that has a distinct resemblance to Sherlock Holmes. Aluminized Steel – Powder Coated Black. Transfer Flow’s in-bed fuel tank systems are available in 37, 50, 75, and 98 gallon fuel tanks, and are available for diesel and gas pickups! Our gas systems meet federal and California Air Resources Board emissions regulations. Our in-bed tanks are baffled in three places and come with all components needed for installation. They operate using our patented TRAX-II or Express UFS operating systems. Transfer Flow offers an optional Camper Shell Fillneck kit that allows you to fill our in-bed tanks through a camper shell. It’s designed to fit under a Pace-Edwards retractable bed cover. It’s available in powdercoated black aluminized steel.TRAX-II consists of an auxiliary fuel tank, an in-line pump, an auxiliary sending unit, a wire harness, an installation kit, and a dash mounted LCD computer module.TRAX-II functions similar to a computer controlled balance line. The computer determines the fuel level of the stock tank, the level of the auxiliary tank, and the status of the vehicle’s fuel system once every few seconds. When necessary, the TRAX-II module will turn on the auxiliary fuel pump and transfer fuel to the main tank. The message, “PUMP ON” will be displayed on the dash mounted LCD when this is occurring. The main tank and auxiliary tank will decrease at the same rate. The LCD will display the gallons in the main tank, the auxiliary tank, the combined fuel levels, and the operational status of the fuel systems. In some vehicles, the OEM fuel gauge will show the combined amount of fuel in the main and auxiliary fuel tanks. With the addition of TRAX-II, there’s no need for a toggle switch to flip back and forth between the main and auxiliary tank. The TRAX-II module does the transferring of fuel for you!

How to Care for Your Septic Tank and Septic System

Septic System Ongoing Maintenance
If you live in a rural area you probably have a septic system instead of a sewer connection. Taking care of your septic system isn't difficult, because modern systems function efficiently when you follow a few basic guidelines.

Put these tips to use for a clean and trouble-free septic system.

Divert Rainwater From the Septic Drainfield

* A soggy drainfield won't absorb and neutralize liquid waste. Plan landscaping, roof gutters and foundation drains so that excess water is diverted away from the septic drainfield.

Don't Overload the Septic Tank and Drainfield

* Check faucets and toilets for leaks; make repairs if necessary.
* Use aerators on faucets and flow reducer nozzles on showers to help lower water consumption.
* Reduce water levels for small loads of laundry.
* Wait until the dishwasher is full to run it.
* Use a displacer to reduce the amount of water needed to flush the toilet.

Keep Trees Away from the Septic System

* Discourage root damage by keeping trees at least 100 feet away from the septic system.
* Trees with very aggressive roots, such as willows, should be even farther away from the system.

The Toilet Isn't a Garbage Disposal

* Never flush cat litter, disposable diapers, sanitary napkins, tampons, paper towels, facial tissues, coffee grounds, or cigarette butts and filters. They'll clog your septic tank in less time than you might imagine.

Use Garbage Disposals Wisely

* A garbage disposal can double the amount of solids added to a septic tank.

* Choose a top-line disposal that grinds food into tiny particles that are easier for a system to digest.

Minimize Heavy Duty Cleaners

* Overuse of heavy cleaners kills beneficial bacteria in the septic tank, so solids won't break down as well.

Do Not Pour Grease Down the Drain

* Grease can clog the septic drainfield, making it impossible for soil to absorb liquids. If that happens you'll need a new drainfield.

Avoid Hazardous Chemicals

* Varnish, paint thinners, motor oils, gasoline and other similar chemicals can ruin your system and are a hazard to groundwater. Dispose of them properly.

Protect the System from Damage

* Do not drive over the drainfield, build a structure on top of it, or cover it with concrete or asphalt.
* Do plant grass on the drainfield to minimize soil erosion.

Perform Regular Maintenance

* Solids must eventually be pumped from the tank. Many experts advise a family of four with a 1,000 gallon septic tank to have the tank pumped after 3-5 years of full time use. Other experts say you can go much longer between pumping operations.

* Never attempt to open a septic tank yourself. Gases and bacteria in it are dangerous.

The Clone Turbo Tank (8098) from Lego is part of the Star Wars series. Containing some 1,141 pieces, it measures an impressive 17.5 inches (45cm) long by over 8 inches (20cm) tall when fully assembled.

Clone Turbo Tank (8098) features a command station, dual cockpits, movable guns, including a flick fire gun and a pop-up handle on top to make moving this formidable machine from battle ground to battle ground as easy as pie, in spite of the fact that this model is pretty hefty when complete.

A bucket load of laser cannons and missiles make easy work of destroying the sabotage attempts of the separatist rebels, led by the dastardly bounty hunter, Cad Bane.

With a foldable Scout Walker, moving wheels (which turn when the model turns) with flexible suspension and door panels which open to reveal a loaded interior, the Clone Turbo Tank (8098) is realistic enough to fire the imagination for endless hours of play.

Jedi knights Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka and Aayla Secura, along with baddies Cad Bane and two Clone Troopers are included as mini action figures, along with a battle droid. The figures will all fit neatly inside the tank when bed time arrives, so they are less likely to get lost or broken when stepped on by a careless parent.
